Animal Print: The New Black?

in a world where everyone [and i mean EVERYONE] is sporting "animal print", one must be careful of becoming "one of the crowd" when wearing their favorite cheetah tights or zebra chiffon top. don't get me wrong, i adore animal prints, but when taken to far, it can become rampunctous and excessive. and when i walk down the hall and see someone covered head to toe with pattern, one word comes to mind: SIMPLICITY. we all may have an adorable zebra cardigan [i know i do] or popular cheetah print baby tee, but if you're wondering how to stand out from the pattern-loving clan, read on :)

1. ACCESORIZE. [use bangles, belts, headbands and more to add animal flair to any outfit. i pair my cheetah bangles & headband with my black dress and flats.]

[goodbye] summer, [hello] school!

my shoes came!!! hot pink SPERRY TOP-SIDERS :] i absolutely loooove them. today i spent multiple hours at the mall, finalizing my 'first day of school' outfit (a.k.a. the most IMPORTANT outfit of the year in my opinion). finding the perfect outfit is fun and often overwhelming; desperately searching for gold shoes, a black bag, and diamond studs was my adventure today. ha! tip: going with a companion can make the journey a WHOLE lot easier. but all in all, i found the PERFECT outfit for the first day:

[wonderful] weekend

hey lovess :] this weekend was absolutely AH-MAZING! the new [HUGE] FOREVER 21 opened on friday [enough said], and a much needed shopping trip was in order. i got a bunch of AH-DORABLE clothes/accessories, including ray-bans and a high waisted skirt; both are on my back-to-school list [see archive]. once i put outfits together with my new items, i will FOR SURE have them up here. a classic STARBUCKS shaken passion tea lemonade was the perfect thing at the end of the day [duh!]. you can never go wrong with that :]

continuing on the FASHION note, i ended the night with watching CONFESSIONS OF A SHOPAHOLIC for the second time. loooovve that movie, not only is it funny, the fashion is impeccable. saturday, i went to elitches and saw METRO STATION in concert. they were AWESOME!! perfect end to summertime, since school's right around the corner.

***Today I went to the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, and I found TONS of AH-DORABLE clothes, shoes, and accessories; including about half of the things on the list above. I am on the BP. Fashion Board at Nordstrom, and it's such an AH-MAZING opportunity to get a head start in the fashion industry, learn more about the fashion world, and meet important people. It's kind of like an internship; it's just for high school students and we have a meeting once a month to discuss new trends, products, etc., and contribute ideas to make BP. even better! Hopefully we will host an event soon. So as a REPRESENTATIVE of Nordstrom, I am officially advising all of you to go take a much deserved shopping trip to Nordstrom RIGHT NOW and check out the sale items!***

The world mourns the loss of the great Michael Jackson. Not only was he an incredible performer, he was a fashion icon, sporting items such as a single sequin glove on one hand. His unique and impeccable style influenced people around the world.

SUMMER!!!

My first official blog post!! We all know the summers are well, HAWT. So it would be absolutely inevitable not to look HAWT! The summer brings fun & vibrant new styles absorbed by the fashion world. One of my must-have summer items is bright colored nail polish. Nail polish can bring a burst of flare to any outfit. I especially LOVE lightning yellow and HAWT pink. :)
